Republican Tax Cut Legislation: House Floor Debate
The full U.S. House of Representatives began Floor debate on November 15, 2017.
First, the House debated and passed House Resolution 619, the rule for consideration of H.R. 1.
Floor debate began on November 15 and continued on November 16. On November 16, two weeks after introduction, the U.S. House passed H.R. 1 by a vote of 227 to 205. Since the U.S. Senate passed H.R. 1 on December 2, the House and Senate will need to reconcile the differences between the two versions of the Republican tax bill.
